National Council of Jewish Women, New Orleans, and educational efforts

The exhibition’s beginning date of 1897 recognizes the significance of the founding of a local section of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) that solidified the guidance Jewish women gave freely to the city of New Orleans. Over the past one hundred years, the city’s women have supported a host of programs designed to enhance the education of the city’s youth.
