Luba Bersadsky Glade, 1922-2009
Born in Romania, Glade came to the U.S. when she was only a year old and considered herself as a lifelong New Orleanian. Known for her exuberance of spirit and her nurturing of gallery owners such as Arthur Roger and Joshua Pailet, Glade ran her own eponymous art gallery in the 1960s, wrote art criticism, and acted as one of the catalysts behind the founding of the Contemporary Arts Center in the 1970s.
