Touro Infirmary Women’s Auxiliary
Organized to aid the hospital, the early women’s group also took upon itself the task of teaching topics such as sewing, cooking, and singing to patients and others in need. Presidents consistently recognized the work of hospitals as keystones of public health, and thus worked to educate staff on how this idea could be conveyed to the public.
For a listing of some of the past presidents pictured at the far right, see here.
